Weekly Wrap Up

Seven things that moved me, grooved me, or improved me.

ONE: Spoon’s new album Hot Thoughts is SO GOOD! Get on it.  🎧

Tidal

Spotify

TWO: Cue the “I want to be the T-Rex” arguments. Boot, wheelbarrow, thimble ousted from Monopoly board game. 🎲

THREE: As a writer and copy editor, I LOVE the outcome of this legal case. ✍🏻

FOUR: Insanely talented musician and Cleveland native Nicholas Megalis brings us David Bowie + Pi in this mesmerizing mashup. 👨🏻‍🎤

FIVE: Kudos to Cleveland-based company Sherwin-Williams and their AoR McKinney for the latest installment in their “Color Chips” campaign. It’s visually stunning. 👀

SIX: According to WalletHub’s 2017 Happiest Places to Live,  Cleveland ranks 149/150, just above Detroit. Phffft. I demand a recount. 🙃

SEVEN: “Finally, a noble use of an iffy strategy.” Yep. This is clickbait I can get behind. 📚

Until next time, be kind to yourself. And each other.

Weekly Wrap-Up

Seven things that moved me, grooved me, or improved me.

ONE: Shocked. And deeply saddened by this headline: Ikey Owens, Keyboardist for Mars Volta and Jack White, Dead at 38. For those interested, Jack White’s touring drummer Daru Jones is beautifully #CelebratingIkeyOwens on Twitter and Facebook.

TWO: You & Downtown Cleveland is a sweet little video that captures the warm and fuzzies I have for my hometown.

THREE: Jimmy Page: How he wrote Stairway to Heaven. This is one of the most brilliant, multi-dimensional interview clips I’ve ever seen. Pay close attention to Jimmy, and you’ll see the transcendent power of music personified.

FOUR: Someone strapped a GoPro to an eagle flying over Paris, and the results are fantastique. I want an eagle to swoop from the sky and land on me.

FIVE: Meet Homelessfonts—a suite of typefaces based on the unique handwriting of the homeless people it helps. Inspiring.

SIX: Rick Rubin returns to his NYU dorm room thirty years later. A fantastic little film about the humble beginnings of Def Jam.

SEVEN: This? Delightful. Famous film scenes in LEGO®.

And before I forget, a bonus this week: Happy Sweetest Day!
